A job-training program first proposed by Jackson Community College President Daniel Phelan that allows companies to train new workers for free has been signed into law.

Gov. Jennifer Granholm recently approved the Michigan New Jobs Training Program http://www.jccmi.edu/News/PressReleases/2009/pr21209b.htm . It will create partnerships between community colleges and companies that intend to either move to Michigan with new jobs or expand current operations.
