Montana Community Finance Corporation makes financial contribution to the Small Business Development Center network

Linda Kindrick, Executive Director for Montana Community Finance Corporation http://www.mtcommunityfinance.org (MCFC) of Helena announces MCFC awarded funds to the Small Business Development Center network. At the SBDC quarterly meeting in Great Falls on Wednesday, February 11, Linda presented checks to the 10 subcenter directors of $1,000 each, for a total award of $10,000. The directors use the funds in a variety of ways, such as dollar for dollar match to federal funds, paying to travel to businesses in their regions, off-setting the cost of business training classes, and ongoing professional development.

As part of its mission, MCFC gives back to the State each year through these organizations that provide one-on-one counseling and training to Montana’s small businesses.

Linda said that “the SBDC network is one of the state’s best kept secrets”. The directors work very closely with entrepreneurs, not only in the start-up phase of the business, but also over the long-term, by helping those who are facing challenges or want to expand their businesses. Ann Desch, Montana Department of Commerce administrator for the SBDC statewide network, said that “this donation to the statewide network supports the ongoing delivery of services to Montana’s businesses”.

Montana Community Finance Corporation is a Certified Development Corporation that originates and services loans for the SBA 504 Loan Program. MCFC has been serving Montana’s small businesses and lenders since 1984 and is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
