Sen. Baucus Goes to Bat for Montana’s Small Businesses

Montana’s senior U.S. Senator Max Baucus http://baucus.senate.gov today met with the President Obama’s nominee to head the Small Business Administration (SBA), Karen Gordon Mills. Baucus pressed the nominee to support measures that will help Montana’s small businesses weather the economic downturn.

The Small Business Administration provides loans to help small businesses compete within their communities. Baucus, chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, spoke with Gordon Mills about ensuring Montana’s timber companies will be able to participate in a new lending program included in the economic recovery package and about advancing the wood products industry- to keep Montanans at work in the woods.
