Gov. Otter, Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho delegation and universities join ceremony in Idaho Falls- Center for Advanced Energy Studies dedicates new facility

On Feb. 20, Idaho National Laboratory http://www.inl.gov and the State of Idaho through its three public universities who are partners in the Center for Advanced Energy Studies (CAES), will dedicate a new 55,000 square-foot, $17 million energy research laboratory on the banks of the Snake River in Idaho Falls.

Gov. C.L. “Butch" Otter and the entire Idaho congressional delegation will join INL http://www.inl.gov , Idaho State University, the University of Idaho, Boise State University, and the U.S. Department of Energy in officially opening the new facility, which is dedicated to education, training and research in pursuit of solutions to critical energy problems.

The dedication program will include remarks in the following order from:

• Hosts CAES director Harold Blackman and INL Director John Grossenbacher,

• Senator Mike Crapo and James Risch,

• Congressmen Mike Simpson and Walt Minnick,

• Battelle Memorial Institute President and Chief Executive Officer Jeff Wadsworth,

• Dept. of Energy Acting Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy Shane Johnson,

• Idaho State University President Arthur Vailas,

• Boise State University President Robert Kustra, and

• University of Idaho Interim President Steven Daley-Laursen.

• CAES director Blackman will present a commemorative plaque.
