History

TechRanch was founded in 2000 by a group of Montana business leaders, and since that time has served over 60 start-up companies throughout Montana. With the support of federal funding, TechRanch hired its first Executive Director, John O’Donnell, in the fall of its first year. Business development programs were put in place and the organization began to have an immediate impact on the success of Montana based technology start-ups. Within a few years of founding, TechRanch was recognized in such publications as the Wall Street Journal, Forbes and leading regional newspapers such as the Denver Post.
