New Supercomputer attracts business in Butte, Montana – Montana Economic Revitalization and Development Institute

As the long heralded supercomputer approaches its debut date in Butte, the list is growing for rental space on the innovative resource.

The computer will be used by numerous companies in the Mining City and likely by many more from outside the Butte area.

A well-known developer of virtual worlds has reportedly expressed interest in possibly starting a new company in Butte. In addition, Montana Tech’s http://www.mtech.edu/ Academic Vice Chancellor Doug Abbott said students and faculty intend to use the computer as soon as it is available in early February. Butte has also been visited by a few rocket scientists, one from Stanford University, interested in utilizing its capabilities for aerospace testing.
