Congratulations to the March Phase 0 Award Winners A4S Technologies and Arctos Research

Phase 0 is a general term indicating preliminary grant support designed to support a successful Phase 1 SBIR or STTR proposal. Such funding can be for initial R&D efforts to support a planned phase 1 proposal, or as support funds for the planning, preparation and evaluation of a phase 1 proposal.

Congratulations to the following award winners for March.

Phase 0 Title: TransitWatch-digital Surveillance System
Target Agency: Department of Transportation

Summary: A4S Technologies, Inc. http://www.a4stech.com in conjunction with Western Michigan
University and Utah State University proposes to develop a digital video
surveillance systems that includes pattern recognition and anomaly
detection. This system will have the capability to monitor roadways,
overpasses, bridges, tunnels, etc, and detect significant changes or
anomalies that could pose a threat to the transit system.

Phase 0 Title: Development of Improved Materials & Methods for the Ignition
of Prescribed Wild Land Fires

Target Agency: USDA

Summary: Arctos will develop a Linear Ignition Tape that will improve the
method for ignition of natural fuels in prescribed burning areas.
