Montana's Bozeman High will add Chinese language and biomedical science classes next fall
| January 13, 2009 |
The Bozeman http://www.bozeman.k12.mt.us/bhsonline/ school board has voted to add new high school classes next fall, including a Chinese language class and biomedical sciences.
The cost of adding Mandarin Chinese will be covered by the University of Montana’s Mansfield center, which will teach the course over the Internet and pay for a native Chinese speaker to visit Bozeman once a week.
Students will be able to earn credit for both high school and college.
Marilyn King, assistant superintendent for instruction, said the addition of a biomedical sciences class is dependent on a federal grant. Montana State University and local companies have offered to donate equipment.
