Montana’s Bitterroot Resort still on hold

Snow has landed on the ski runs above Tom Maclay’s proposed Bitterroot Resort http://www.bitterrootresort.us/ , but a blizzard of paperwork has yet to materialize.

Bitterroot National Forest officials still await a collection of financial and technical information on Maclay’s plans for skiing and biking in public lands above his ranch on the sides of Lolo Peak. The information would fuel a Forest Service screening process the resort must pass before it can get a special use permit for its business.

Resort chief operating officer Jim Gill said there were no plans for skiing on the developed runs this winter, although mountain-biking activity was successful last summer. The resort sold its snow coaches at the end of last winter, he said.
