The Montana Department of Labor & Industry Launches Redesigned Website

The Research and Analysis Bureau of the Department of Labor and Industry released the newly redesigned version of itís website at http://www.ourfactsyourfuture.org. "We wanted to make the website easier for people to navigate and get the information they need", says Labor Commissioner Keith Kelly.

With two main components, Labor Market Information and Career Resources, the redesign aims to provide more intuitive navigation and give a new look to the Research and Analysis Bureau’s site. The Labor Market Information page breaks down the data sets into easy to understand categories, such as employment data, wage data, industry data, local area information and various publications. More experienced users can still find their data classified by the program that produced it (such as QCEW, LAUS, and CES) by using the links on the left navigation bar.

The Career Resources page allows visitors to search for information based on their user types: students, parents, job seekers or teachers. Career publications are available for a wide variety of users from elementary school students to seniors. The site also allows users to access web-based career development tools, such as the Montana Career Information System (MCIS), which provides detailed information on Montana occupations, schools, scholarships and more. "This website helps Montana students to be informed about the high-paying, high-demand jobs available in our state," says Governor Brian Schweitzer. "The new website uses features such as podcasts, which are consistent with how our younger generation gets information today."

Visitors will have the opportunity to express their opinions of the new site by participating in our online survey, which is accessible from the homepage.
