Digging out a solid business – Montana Hydraulics Acquires Felco Industries

The owners of a Helena machining firm that’s had a long vendor relationship with a heavy-equipment manufacturer in Missoula recently purchased their former business partner in the Garden City.

Jim Burrington, Mark Ehlke and Della Ehlke, owners of Montana Hydraulics http://www.montanahydraulics.com/ , recently completed an acquisition of Missoula-based Felco Industries http://www.felco-ind.com/ .

Felco, in business for two decades, manufactures excavator attachments, including bedding conveyors, vibratory compaction buckets, wheel compactors, roller compaction buckets and backfill conveyors.

Montana Hydraulics, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary in Helena (the shop is on Florence Street on the east side), machined the axles for many of Felco’s products. The axels have sealed journal bearings and don’t need to be oiled.
