Farm-to-Table Co-op seeks investors in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

The Farm-to-Table Cooperative http://www.farmtotablecoop.com/ , which aims to make local food available online and in area stores, restaurants and institutions, is seeking investors in Eastern Montana and Western North Dakota

The $500 membership shares are being collected and an inaugural meeting of the cooperative is planned for early 2009, said Bruce Smith, the Dawson County Extension Agent leading the movement.

The Farm-to-Table Project has designed a brochure to describe the cooperative and explain how the public can invest in the project. The brochure highlights the many facets of the project, including the marketing cooperative, restaurant and microbrewery, shared-use commercial kitchen and the culinary arts program.
