Online course from Montana State University helps Montana teachers fulfill Indian Education for All Act

Montana State University’s Extended University will offer an online course from Jan. 11 to March 7 that will help Montana teachers meet Indian Education for All or state certification requirements.

Taught by John Vollertsen, an Assiniboine tribal member and veteran MSU instructor, the American Indian Studies for Educators course is designed primarily for students in teacher licensure and/or education programs. Instruction covers the history, traditions, values, beliefs, languages, educational policies, learning styles and contemporary affairs of American Indians, particularly tribal groups in the Northern Plains Region.
