Ohio looks for ways to spur development in battered economy

Ohio is the first state where a national development finance group is bringing together public officials, port authorities, banks and law firms to find the best ways to spur development.

Amid a recession and a spreading commercial real estate slump, the Council of Development Finance Agencies http://www.cdfa.net/ is searching for ways to shepherd growth in the Buckeye State. The national association, based in Cleveland, has assembled a team of about 30 leaders from the public and private sectors to consider ways to work together and find money for projects.
