Senator Max Baucus – "Join Me In Washington!"

Hello Friends!

The holiday season is truly a time to reflect on our lives, to surround ourselves with friends and family and to count our blessings.

We know Montana is like no other place. And while the mountains, plains and endless sky- unmatched in their majesty, never fail to take my breath away- what truly makes Montana the most beautiful place on earth, is the people who call it home.

Everywhere I go in Montana, I meet hardworking folks who always impress me with their generosity, their grit and their commitment to their communities.

I received a gift of the holidays a little early this year when I was re-elected to my sixth term as one of Montana’s United States Senators. I’m deeply honored and humbled to be awarded the opportunity to represent the great people of Montana for another six years.

There is a lot of work to be done in the coming year and I’m already rolling up my sleeves. I’m leading the charge for health care reform, preparing to write a highway bill that will create good paying jobs and boost our economy, and moving forward to find new energy solutions that will change the way we power the world.

I’d like to invite all Montanans- every one of my 900,000 bosses- to join me at a reception to celebrate my swearing in as the longest serving Senator in Montana’s history. The reception will be held on January 6, 2009 in Washington D.C. from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. I want to share this day with Montanans- the people who continue to inspire me everyday.

Serving as Montana’s Senator has been and will continue to be the greatest honor of my life. I truly hope you can join me next month.
