State energy leaders gather in Lewistown, Montana to discuss strategy for the next Legislature
December 8, 2008/
Leading Montana legislators and energy officials met in Lewistown Wednesday to discuss strategy for the next Legislature. They came up with a lot of ideas, which they expect to formulate into specific legislation they would like to see introduced.
Jim Chalmers, a Fergus County Port Authority Board member who helped organize the workshop, said a steering committee composed of Port Authority Board members and Sen. Jim Peterson (R-Buffalo) will meet to distill the ideas. They plan to have concrete proposals ready to be placed before the Legislature, which convenes in Helena in January.
