New turbine at Stanford School in Montana designed to educate and save energy. Wind for Schools

Students at Stanford School recently were given an educational opportunity that will allow them the use of state-of-the-art technology to study wind energy. A small 1.8 kW wind turbine was installed behind the school on Saturday, Nov. 22. The turbine is part of a program entitled Wind for Schools (WfS) http://www.windpoweringamerica.gov/schools.asp , which was launched in 2005 in Colorado by Wind Powering America (WPA), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory’s (NREL) Wind Power and Community Outreach Program.
