Montana School funding called bleak

Bozeman school officials warned Monday that if the governor’s plan for funding Montana schools passes the 2009 Legislature, the outlook for local schools is bleak.

The Bozeman School District would fall nearly $1.5 million short of what’s needed to keep up with inflation, even though it would receive more state dollars under Gov. Brian Schweitzer’s proposed budget, Superintendent Kirk Miller told the School Board.
