Butte Council delays Super Computer funding decision

Butte-Silver Bow commissioners have given themselves eight days to consider possible funding sources for a company that wants to operate a supercomputer in Butte.

The nonprofit, Montana-based Rocky Mountain Supercomputing Centers has asked the county for $380,000.

The state- funded supercomputer is scheduled to be installed in the Thornton Building, Broadway and Wyoming, in late December and be online by mid-January.
