Economy hangs over Bitterroot Valley Community College discussion
| November 21, 2008 |
The worsening economy was the backdrop Thursday for a Montana Board of Regents meeting at the University of Montana, where Montana University System professionals and regents expressed doubts about a plan for a Bitterroot Valley Community College http://www.bvcc-edu.org/ .
The meeting also became something of a prolonged plea from Ravalli County advocates of the college, who lined up and offered their comments for nearly an hour and a half.
At stake is a potential recommendation as to whether the state legislature should move forward with funding the two-year school. Regents should offer a recommendation by next month.
