Cost of living in Bozeman, Montana well above national average
| November 13, 2008 |
Bozeman continued to be the most expensive place to live in Montana, a local business network reported Wednesday, with housing the likely culprit.
Bozeman’s cost of living for the third quarter of 2008 was 9 percent higher than the national average for professional and managerial households, according to the Prospera Business Network. That’s up from 7.5 percent during the previous quarter.
The quarterly report is based on numbers released by the Council for Community and Economic Research, which also measures the costs of living in Missoula and Kalispell. In those cities, the cost of living was higher than the national average, but lower than Bozeman.
