The Center for Advanced Supramolecular and Nano Systems (CASANS): Montana Tech of The University of Montana
| November 11, 2008 |
The Center for Advanced Supramolecular and Nano Systems (CASANS) at Montana Tech of The University of Montana will initiate a long-term and multidisciplinary program in collaboration with The University of Montana – Missoula to continue existing as well as develop new activities involving supramolecular and nano systems.
Both schools have various programs involved in materials science and engineering, have collaborations already ongoing in these disciplines of national interest and security, and have strong desires to grow and emphasize them further.
By acting as a point of collaboration among the various programs, CASANS will spawn more interactions between scientists and engineers on both campuses. This cross-disciplinary approach is the leading trend in successful research efforts nationally. CASANS efforts will be concentrated primarily in three niche areas: green technology, composite materials and actuators/sensors.
