Montana Legislators Seek Housing in Helena for 2009 Session
| November 7, 2008 |
Montana legislators are looking for places to live in Helena during the 2009 session, which runs from January through April.
The Legislative Services Division (LSD) is compiling a list of potential housing opportunities and sharing it with legislators who ask for help finding a place to stay. Some lawmakers need only enough room to hang their hat, while others plan to bring family members and need larger accommodations.
Most legislators are interested in renting furnished residences close to the Capitol, according to Marsha Sager, information specialist with LSD.
"This can be a great chance for snowbirds to find caretakers to watch their houses while they fly south for the winter," Sager said. "And it can be a great way for landlords to fill their vacancies."
If you have a house, condo, apartment, or room to rent, contact the Legislative Services Division at 444-3064 or stop in at Room 110 in the State Capitol.
