University of Wyoming, General Electric partner on coal research - Outline of deal to build cutting-edge plant announced

The University of Wyoming http://www.uwyo.edu/ and General Electric Co. http://www.ge.com/ have reached an agreement on how to develop a coal research plant.
The plant will allow research into coal gasification and "clean coal" technologies. It will use coal from Wyoming's vast reserves. Wyoming is the nation's leading coal producer.
The Wyoming Legislature this year put up $20 million for the project, which officials have said could ultimately cost $100 million.
