October 30, 2008View for printing

Anthony Preite, Director of the Montana Department of Commerce, will acknowledge Intercontinental Truck Body http://itbusa.com/ (ITB) of Conrad, for its expansion and job creation efforts on Friday, October 31, at 11:00 a.m. at the Montana Air National Guard in Great Falls.

ITB will be delivering four Flight Line Tow Tractors to the Montana Air National Guard as part of its $25 million military contract with the U.S. Department of Defense. The Montana Air Guard will use the Flight Line Tow Tractors, also called "Bobtails," to move grounded military aircraft in Great Falls. The Montana Department of Commerce awarded ITB with a series of grants which enabled to company to expand its operations and accommodate the military contract. ITB will build a total of 950 Flight Line Tow Tractors for the U.S. Department of Defense, but only these four will remain in Montana.

"For Intercontinental Truck Body to land this contract and expand business to this magnitude is a major accomplishment," said Preite. "Governor Brian Schweitzer and I applaud ITB and its partners in this project. This is a significant economic development project for Montana and we are proud to have helped create 35 new jobs in the Conrad community and ensure the continued employment of ITB's 80 employees."

Since 2005, the Montana Department of Commerce has awarded a total of over $1.2 million in Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds, Workforce Innovation in Regional Economic Development (WIRED) funds, and Community Development Block Grant - Economic Development (CDBG-ED) funds to ITB and Pondera County for ITB's overall expansion. The Pondera Regional Port Authority and Sweetgrass Development Corporation were cooperating partners in the project.
