Northwest SEED Community Partnership Project – RFP for community clean energy projects

Thanks to John Guthmiller, MT USDA/RD for sending this. John said, “Northwest SEED has been instrumental in getting some small wind generators on rural farms in Montana and other northwest states. They are now requesting RFP for 4 communities in the 4 state region as discussed below.

Northwest Sustainable Energy for Economic Development (Northwest SEED) is now soliciting proposals for our new Community Energy Partnership Project. This project is ideal for those in the Northwest that have a passion for building communities through clean and local energy.

Through this RFP process, Northwest SEED will select up to four Partners to receive technical assistance. Partners will work with Northwest SEED to substantially advance their clean energy project ideas by June of 2009. The selected Partners will receive Northwest SEED’s staff time and expertise at no cost.

Each clean energy initiative advanced with the Partnership Project will bring the benefits of community-based energy to the Pacific Northwest, allowing residents to retain maximum value from regional clean energy development. The Partnership Project successes will provide roadmaps to help other communities become better stewards of the environment and more energy independent through clean energy choices.

Community groups of all types from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana are encouraged to apply. Please help us spread the word! Attached is the official Request For Proposals. As well, the RFP will be available on the Northwest SEED website (http://www.nwseed.org). The deadline for applications is November 14th, 2008.

Sincerely,

Leslie Moynihan
