Supercomputer could be super bump for Butte, Montana

A supercomputing company wants to bring a large investment into Butte, but the kryptonite of tight budgets threatens the project.

Rocky Mountain Supercomputing Centers, a private nonprofit company, is scheduled to make an hour-long presentation Oct. 15 to the Butte-Silver Bow Council of Commissioners.

The company will propose locating a high performance supercomputer in Uptown Butte.

Rocky Mountain Supercomputing is currently in the process of securing funding sources for the project.
