Montana Gov. Schweitzer discusses restoration economy at Montana Tech

The MDT Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program encourages and supports the participation of companies owned and controlled by socially and economically disadvantaged individuals in transportation contracts.

Governor Brian Schweitzer met with leaders from businesses and educational institutions at Montana Tech to discuss efficient development of Montana’s restoration workforce.

Montana’s restoration economy is based on improving the state’s natural environments such as streams, forests, fisheries and mining sites.

The event served as a forum for restoration workers to explain what is needed from the Montana University System and labor unions to continue current projects and programs aimed at cleaning up these environments.
