Inside Entrepreneurship: Promised financing doesn’t always show up — so what to do?

Q: About a year ago I raised $275,000 from an investment group. I took this money even though I told them that I really needed about $1 million. They told me not to worry and that they would give me money as I needed it, though I don’t have it in writing. This seemed fine at the time. The problem is the investors haven’t invested like they promised. Can I sue?
