Venture Capital: Big Fish hauls in $83.3 million in funding

Big Fish Games http://www.bigfishgames.com/ has reeled in the biggest venture financing deal in the state this year.

The Seattle online game distributor — whose popular titles include "Mystery Case Files," "Azada" and "Hidden Expeditions" — plans Friday to announce $83.3 million in funding from Balderton Capital http://www.balderton.com/ , General Catalyst Partners http://www.generalcatalyst.com/ and Salmon River Capital. It is not only the largest venture financing deal in the state this year, but the biggest ever in a U.S. online gaming company, according to Thomson Reuters and the National Venture Capital Association.
