Preserving the past. Deer Lodge, Montana business district achieves historic designation

The central business district in Deer Lodge has been named to the National Register of Historic Places.
The district, the heart of downtown, features 62 buildings dating from 1884 to 1957, including commercial businesses, financial institutions, a theater, single and multifamily dwellings, Masonic temple, post office, city hall and a hotel. Architectural styles include Western commercial, late Victorian and early 20th century revivals.
