Montana's Internet download speeds tortoise-like

Montanans suffer under some of the nation’s slowest Internet download speeds, according to a report released Tuesday by the Communications Workers of America.
Montana tied in 47th place with Wyoming with a median average download speeds of 1.3 megabits per second, based on data collected from May 2007 through May 2008. Two states with slower speeds were North Dakota, 1.2 megabits per second, and Alaska, with 0.8 megabits per second. The fastest American state is Rhode Island, with 6.8 mbps download speeds. East Coast states led the survey, and western states hit the bottom of the list.
