Auditor: Idaho nuclear company risking going out of business. Alternate Energy Holdings Inc. says it's moving forward.

Alternate Energy Holdings, a small Boise company aiming to build a $4.5 billion nuclear power plant in Elmore County, risks going out of business because it’s lost so much money, according to an auditor that just reviewed its finances.
Alternate Energy Holdings had a net loss of $3.4 million in 2007, leaving it with assets worth $324,431, auditors from New York-based Rotenberg & Co. wrote this week in a report. Since its inception, Alternate Energy Holdings has a deficit of $4.9 million.

Eagle-based nuclear developer says it's moving forward in Idaho
It's not unusual for start-ups to lose money at first, AEHI says after losses totaling almost $5M.

Losses totaling nearly $5 million are not stopping an Eagle company from moving forward on hopes to build a multi-billion nuclear power plant in Idaho.
New York-based auditors Rotenberg & Co. reported the company, Alternate Energy Holdings Inc., run by former nuclear industry executive Don Gillispie, had lost so much money that it raised "significant" doubt about its ability to continue, The Associated Press reported Thursday. In response, AEHI spokesman Martin Johncox said the financial situation is not unusual.
