The Montana Department of Commerce has awarded $300,000 in funding from the Community Development Block Grant - Economic Development (CDBG-ED) Program to Flathead County for a loan to Glacier Stone Supply, LLC http://www.glacierstonesupply.com/ for the purchase of new equipment and machinery. Glacier Stone, a natural stone veneer processing facility in Kalispell, expects to hire 50 more employees for its business expansion project.
"Montana is on the move," said Governor Brian Schweitzer. "This expansion project will help Glacier Stone Supply expand its successful operations and create many excellent employment opportunities for the Kalispell community."
"This project will grow business and bolster the job market," said Anthony Preite, Director of the Montana Department of Commerce. "We are proud to help a Montana company grow right here in the Treasure State."
Montana's CDBG-ED program is designed to stimulate economic development activity by assisting Montana's private sector in job creation or retention for low and moderate income persons.
The program receives funding from the Community Development Block Grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Other contributing funding will be from Wells Fargo Bank. Jobs Now, Inc. will assist with the administration of the project.
