Montana’s volunteer rate ranks 5th in nation. Wyoming ranks 12th

A new report shows Montana’s average volunteer rate from 2005 to 2007 was 38%, ranking it No. 5 in the country.

The study, by the Corporation for National and Community Service, shows that on average, Montana has more than 284,000 volunteers giving 35.3 million hours of service each year.

Wyoming ranks 12th for volunteerism

Volunteers for World Changers prepare to install a new window at a home in north Casper in June. Wyoming has the 12th highest rate of volunteerism in the nation, according to a Monday report.

From Old Bill’s Fun Run in Jackson Hole to Frontier Days in Cheyenne and AmeriCorps assignments across the state, people in Wyoming volunteer at a higher rate than the national average.
