Grow Utah Ventures Launches Concept to Company Contest

Ogden’s growing outdoor recreation industry has gotten another boost to keep it moving full speed ahead. Grow Utah Ventures http://www.growutahventures.com/ has joined with Ogden City, The Utah Science Technology and Research initiative (USTAR) http://ustar.utah.gov/ and Zions Bank to launch the first Concept to Company contest, a program that aims to help sports-minded entrepreneurs.
According to T. Craig Bott, president and CEO of Grow Utah Ventures, the contest originated in Ogden because of the city’s growing reputation as the place for outdoor fun. “Ogden has such a strong outdoor recreation industry, so we thought that it would be great to have an innovator contest that focused on the city’s outdoor industry,” he said. “We want to get some money to the state’s early recreation innovators.”
