Developers’ packets: smart tool for economic growth in Anaconda, Montana

Excitement is building over in the Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Courthouse and for good reason. The recently approved plan to issue developers’ packets could be just the ticket to economic growth.
The packets are essentially invitations to buy and develop county-owned land, and they’re available in the courthouse starting today, with bids due by Aug. 31. The packets also contain information on Superfund liabilities and — most importantly — on how to address environmental responsibilities and move on to create successful projects.
