Starting up: Thinking of joining a start-up? You'll need passion, initiative, flexibility
| June 12, 2008 |
About two years ago, I observed an entrepreneur in a neighboring office suite lead a successful start-up venture. He - and at times up to four engineers - were crowded into a 13-by-13 office, working feverishly on a new technology product.
It was far from glamorous, but just walking past the door, you could feel the excitement. Last fall, they moved to a slightly more spacious, but not too glamorous office, a few blocks away. A couple of months ago, their operation was acquired by a larger technology firm for an eight-figure sum. What a great milestone for a dedicated and inspired team.
