Summer Fun!
In nearly every Boomtown USA presentation I give, I include the story of Holiday World in Santa Claus, IN. The town has grown from only 59 in the 1940's to over 2,000 today. I love the town's name!
Holiday World puts out an e-newsletter throughout the year. Their June newsletter had the following interesting facts about the park:
* Consumer's Digest magazine named Holiday World & Splashin' Safari the nation's Top-Value Park. There is one admission price for both parks, as well as free parking, free sunscreen, free inner-tube usage, and free unlimited soft drinks all day long! * Last year, Holiday World &n Splashin' Safari served more than 380,000 gallons of free soft drinks, enough to fill The Wave Pool one and a half times! It was dispensed with over 360 tons of ice. * Their newest roller coaster, The Voyage, has been voted the #1 Wooden Roller Coaster in the World by the readers of Amusement Today magazine! The Voyage is a 1.2 mile roller coaster with 24.2 seconds of "air-time." It has five underground tunnels and a maximum speed of 67.4 mph. It is one of the world's fastest and longest wooden roller coasters!
