Montana State Auditor John Morrison: 22 defrauded in plasma screen investment scheme

The state auditor says a Bozeman man and a Pennsylvanian defrauded at least 22 Montana investors of more than $2 million.
Auditor John Morrison http://sao.mt.gov/ issued a cease-and-desist order against Craig Steen of Bozeman and Wayne Butler of Norristown, Pa., and their business, Global Sports Marketing Corporation, also known as Global Broadcast Digital Network.
Morrison says Butler and Steen told investors that Global Sports Marketing would buy large plasma screen televisions using investors' money, place the screens in high traffic areas such as sports venues and shopping malls, sell ads and pay half the proceeds to investors.
