Boost math scores with early intervention
| May 29, 2008 |
Finding the problem areas a student is having with math faster allows educators to begin working on the solution much sooner. The 2004 rewritten Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, or IDEA, has made helping struggling math students a priority.
Known as Response to Intervention (RTI), the model creates a new way to determine if a student isn't performing at grade level owing to a lack of instruction. It also shows which students require special education due to a disability. Fortunately, math software technology is making this early intervention and assessment possible.
To help ensure your students' success in math, eSchool News has compiled numerous news articles and other helpful resources on the RTI process and its use nationwide.
