Sunburst, Montana welcomes big economic boost
| May 29, 2008 |
Students at North Toole County High School call themselves the Refiners and proudly wear their colors, red and white. It's a tribute to the oil refineries that helped found the community.
"Back then we had two banks, two grocery stores, three hotels, three service stations and a hospital," said Sunburst mayor Gary Iverson. There was a movie theater and bowling alley, too. When the refineries closed in the early 1960s, most of those businesses shut down as well.
These days, the school board may want to consider a mascot name change to something like, say, the Agents, and switch to green uniforms.
