Venture Capital: The thrill of speed dating for startups

My head was spinning after spending a good portion of Wednesday evening at the Fusion Ultra Lounge in the University District, where Dylan Rosario hosted the latest sFive startup networking event. And it wasn’t the pint of Guinness that got my brain buzzing.

Over the course of the evening, half a dozen earlystage entrepreneurs — everyone from a developer of a new social network for tango dancers to a creator of African-themed children’s products — pitched their business ideas.

Entrepreneurs had about eight minutes to convince experts in technology, law, media and finance that their ideas were compelling business opportunities. There was a lot to consume.
