Audacity is the key to securing our prosperity

The universities have a key role to play in the creation of a knowledge economy that will secure the best future for Ireland.
The nature and extent of our economic travails are the subject o much debate, given the extraordinary growth of the past decade.
It does seem timely, however, to challenge the extremes of some types of thinking. At one extreme, all is already lost - we have been deluding ourselves for the past decade that we had reached the economic promised land, but now the game is up - ‘‘this party’s over, I’m going home’’ to quote An Emotional Fish.
