The community’s location and natural resources hold economic opportunity including alternative energy possibilities, but hurdles remain, a new report said.
“Those are the same strengths that brought the smelter to Anaconda http://www.anacondamt.org/ ; your future depends on exploiting the strengths in a different way,” said Christine Richman, senior associates with Wickstrom & Associates of Salt Lake City, a county planning contractor.
County commissioners took an early look Tuesday at the draft East Deer Lodge Planning Area Reuse Strategy-Strategic Analysis, which aims to identify land uses and direct federal officials as they decide exactly how Superfund land must be remedied.
