Springboards to success — Many graduates find internships lead to entry-level positions. Western Montana InBusiness
| May 2, 2008 |
Internships are perhaps the fastest way to get a full-time job - and to pay off college debt.
Just ask Dylan Flaherty, a University of Montana graduate student.
The computer science major has landed three paid internships with Boeing in Seattle, which have allowed him to gain on-the-job experience during the summer and earn more than $12,000 per internship.
His third and final internship begins this summer, and his employers tell him it will probably lead to a full-time position if he wants it.
Flaherty is thrilled, and said he wouldn't be in such a cushy position if it weren't for the help of UM's Internship Services http://www.umt.edu/internships/ .
Has your company taken advantage of the creativity and innovation available from the internship program at Montana's Universities?
