Student protest ends in arrests

Nine students demanding that the University of Montana adopt an anti-sweatshop labor program took over UM President George Dennison's office for more than six hours Wednesday before they were arrested for trespassing and disorderly conduct.

“I feel empowered,” said Saara Snow, a senior in environmental studies who came out applauding the mob of supporters, many of whom had chanted slogans, sang songs, clapped, stomped and waved signs inside and outside Main Hall all afternoon long.
