The newly formed Butte-Silver Bow Public Schools Education Foundation raised about $18,000 at its “A Class Act for Education Kickoff Gala” March 28.
Mary Mulcaire-Jones, of the group’s planning committee, said nearly 200 people attended the gala at the Front Street Station. The money was raised through donations, ticket sales and the auction held during the event.
She said 60 percent of the money will go to teacher grants, while 20 percent will pay for administrative costs and 20 percent for the foundation’s endowment.
