Absarokee, Montana businessman growing a better world. "Three Little Birds"
| March 30, 2008 |
Lee Johnson spends a good deal of his time addressing the "what?" factor.
Even his friends look at him quizzically when he talks about Three Little Birds, his Absarokee-based landscaping and "yardfarm" business.
"Sometimes I have to approach it more as an organic garden," he said. From there, he launches into the benefits of his trademarked C.R.O.P. or "carbon-reducing organic produce" gardens.
The premise behind Johnson's new business is fairly simple and in some ways more old than new. Either way, it's enough beyond today's norm to beg an explanation. Johnson will come in, tear up your landscaped lawn and replace it with an organic garden. The end result is homegrown produce for both the landowner and local restaurants, not to mention a net reduction in the yard's carbon footprint.
