The Montana World Trade Center will offer the second round of the Global Trade Certificate Program around the state this spring.

Trade officials and industry specialists will educate program participants on providing assistance to Montana businesses looking to increase their global opportunities and growth potential.

Session I of the series will be held in Billings on April 24-25. Some of the courses at this session include “Export Essentials — Opportunities, Resources and Risks,” “Doing Business in South America: Legal Safety Measure and Protection” and “The Local Impact of the Global Economy: Current Trends in Global Business.”

Session II will take place in Bozeman on May 15-16. It will feature keynote speakers from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security and the Office of the European Union.

The program’s third session will be held in Missoula on June 5-6 and will feature keynote speaker David M. Spooner, assistant secretary for Import Administration with the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The complete schedule and list of speakers is available online at http://www.mwtc.org/GTCP . Participation in the full series costs $525 and individual sessions cost $175. Members of the Montana World Trade Center, Montana Economic Development Association and the Montana Chamber of Commerce can attend all three session for $395 or $125 for individual sessions. To obtain the Global Trade Certificate, individuals must complete all three sessions. Continuing education and continuing legal education credits also are available. The Global Trade Certificate Program was launched in 2007 as part of an effort to foster a proactive environment for international business in Montana. There are now more than 35 certified trade specialists offering business assistance around the state. The program is sponsored by the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Small Business Administration and is organized by the MWTC.
